- title and registration for all vehicles

- detailed information of employer benefits of either spouse
- statements from investment accounts
- statements from retirement accounts
- information related to pensions
- list of all personal property in possession by either spouse (note possession details and if purchased prior to marriage)
- personal property appraisals
- real property appraisals
- licenses or certificates of value
- social security estimates or income verification
- employment or contractor contracts or benefits
- spousal-owned-business financial records
- wills
- trusts
- POAs
- medical directives
- stock options
- a list of all debts while married
- proof of payments made while married of debts assumed prior to marriage
- mortgage documents (first, second, lines of credit)
- original sale documents for real property owned (primary, secondary, investment)
- refinance documents (if any)
- secured loan statements (e.g., auto loans)
- property tax documents (tax assessor statements and personal property tax documents)
- tax debts or liens
- credit card, revolving lines of credit and all other loan statements
- credit reports (upon request)
- list of last 18 months of bills (household expenses, kid's expenses, tuition, medical bills)
- Include any needed documents as required by legal team (ask if there are deadlines - some are court ordered documents required by a specific date)

Create a divorce file with all of the documents and contact information readily available. Create one for your spouse if it will help expedite the divorce for the least amount of legal fees.
It should include financial, legal and pertinent documents. List contact information for attorneys, courts, mediators, counselors & spouse on the cover of the file folder.
