Featuring a cocktail, its recipe and brief history!

Holidays, 2021 featured cocktail...

Directions:

Chill glass

Rinse tall rocks glass and place in freezer until ready to serve or fill glass with ice water for 30 seconds immediately before preparing cocktail.

Prepare:

Use a peeler or a small paring knife to cut an orange peel from a medium sized to large orange.  Start at the top and peel around the orange to make a spiral.  Quarter the same orange (or if picky - use a new orange with a perfect rind), then halve one of the quarters to get a wedge.  Put a slit in the wedge and hinge on glass when the cocktail is ready to serve.

Fill half of chilled glass with ice.  Scoop 1 small melon scoop from the orange juice concentrate and place on top of ice. Drop the orange peel in and add cranberry juice next.  Finish filling glass with ice. Then add the 1-ounce shots of Grand Marnier® and Disaronno®.  For the best result use the specific brands noted in the cocktail recipe.  However, you can sub with any orange liqueur/Orange Curacao for the Grand Marnier® and almond flavor liqueur/Amaretto for the Disaronno®.  Next add the 1/2 ounce shot of Fireball®.  Finish off the remainder of the unfilled glass with seltzer water, club soda or 7UP®.

Optional: For a sweeter and more colorful cocktail add an ounce of cherry juice and several cherries before topping with seltzer, club soda or 7UP®.

Enjoy!

Non-Alcoholic

Keep the above recipe but substitute 2 ounces of Ritual Rum® for the 1 ounce of Grand Marnier®, add 1/2 tsp. of cinnamon in place of the Fireball® and a dash of nutmeg for the Disaronno® and keep the rest of the recipe the same. Shake all liquid ingredients vigorously, except the seltzer, club soda or 7UP®, then pour them after you place the scoop of orange juice concentrate into the glass.
