One of the best ways to improve our mental well-being and lift our spirits is to volunteer.  Volunteering with other members of the community keeps us focused on positively affecting the lives of others while naturally reducing our fixation on our own problems.

It gives us a chance to meet new people & develop a sense of accomplishment, community and purpose.  Volunteering further provides tremendous help for groups, churches and individuals in our city, across the nation and around the world.

How to get started as a volunteer

We put together a short list of organizations that are seeking volunteers.   While we can't list every organization that needs volunteers; we have provided ideas for independent volunteering, a volunteer matching service and types of groups within your own community that need your help.  If you know of an organization that is seeking volunteers, we'd love to hear from you. Please send your communication with "volunteer" in the subject line to: This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
