A degree in today's job market is extremely useful. But, the experience and skills you have from previous jobs, certifications and trade schools can be just as important when seeking high demand jobs within specific career fields.
The key is to locate jobs that have a high median annual wage and steady or high career growth rate. They should also have matching requirements with your skills, experience and/or education. While many of these jobs do not require a degree, some may require education, apprenticeship or job training certifications. Some may prefer a degree but will substitute work experience for education.
