History

This drink is thought to have originated in the Bahamas or Jamaica around the 1950's.  There are a few theories about the drinks origination.  One is that it refers to a famous Caribbean dancer, Dottie Lee Anderson. Her stage name was "Bahama Mama".  She was featured in the same popular magazine that glamourized the drink as a popular, strong drink of it's time.  Another theory is that it was inspired by the Prohibition when the Bahamas were a hub for smuggling rum.

Next featured cocktail is the MOJITO!

Last featured cocktail was the Long Island Iced Tea!

As always drink responsibly or try the non-alcoholic versions!
